The ASTM A500 structural tube is a round, circular, cold-formed, welded, seamless carbon steel structural tube. The tubes cover the welding of bridges and buildings, riveting or screwing of buildings, and welding by cold bending and seamless carbon steel structural tubes round, square, rectangular or special shape for general structural purposes. It must be produced in welded and seamless sizes, and must have chemical requirements for carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur and copper. The pipes must be produced by open home fusion process, basic oxygen or electric furnace. When melting pipes of different grades in sequence, steel producers must identify the final transition material and gradually separate it using certain methods. The products manufactured for this tube may not be suitable for applications such as dynamically loaded elements in welded structures, etc., where the properties of toughness to the notch at low temperature may be important. The stress test and the flattening test will be performed on the samples. All tubes must be inspected at the manufacturing site to ensure compliance with the requirements of this specification and must have a defect-free professional finish.

manufacture
The ASTM A500 structural tube will be made by a marmless or welding process and will be made of flat-rolled steel by the electrical resistance welding process. Wtubo elded' sla top longitudinal joint will be welded through its thickness in such a way as to ensure the structural design strength of the tube section. Grade D tubes should be thermally treated at a temperature of at least 1100°F for one hour per inch 25 mm thick. The weld must not be located within the corner radius of any formed tube unless specified by the buyer.
