ASTM A252 Steel Tube
Description
ASTM A252 is the American Standard Specification for Welded and Seamless Steel Pipe Piles which has been widely used in construction and structural buildings. The ASTM A252 steel pipe specification covers nominal wall cylindrical steel pipe stacks in which the steel cylinder acts as a permanent load bearing member or as a framework to form cast-in-place concrete piles. Each welded pile must be made of seamless, electric resistance, flash welding or fusion welding with longitudinal, helical or helical lap seams. The tube piles are produced as welded and seamless products.

Test requirements
Test requirements for A252 steel pipe piles in seamless and welded includes:
Chemical composition: Limits to P elements (not more than 0.050%).
Product Analysis: The frequency of testing will be determined by the pipe diameter, where under 14 inches 2 samples per 200 pieces, 14 to 36 inches 2 samples per 100 pieces, above 36 inches is 2 samples per 3000 feet.
Allowable tolerance: the weight of the stack of tubes A252 must be in -5 15% or -5% of the theoretical weight. OD tolerances at - 1 / - 1%, wall thickness + / - 12%.
Traction requirements
The production must comply with the tensile strength and elastic limit.
