This steel is called " Chromium 16 " for its considerable content of this element, the addition of Nickel, makes it a steel of outstanding mechanical properties by conventional methods of heat treatment, the resistance to corrosion is superior to that of steels with Chromium content such as those of type 410 and 416. It is magnetic in all its states, manufactured by electric furnace processes. It is particularly required in the Aerodynamic and Naval Industry especially for parts that must be subject to magnetic inspection.
