Aisi 316 stainless steel (UNS s31600)
Aisi 316 (UNS s31600) stainless steel is one of the most widely used austenitic stainless steels, the corrosion resistance and some properties of ss316 have been greatly improved due to the addition of molybdenum (mo).
316L stainless steel (UNS s31603) is a low carbon version of Aisi 316.316 stainless steel is superior to 304 stainless steel in corrosion resistance, heat resistance and some properties, but the price is superior to Aisi 304. For more details see 304 stainless steel vs 316 and 316 stainless steel vs 316L.
Ss316l can be used in applications that cannot be repositioned after welding and require maximum corrosion resistance.
Aisi 316 (UNS s31600) and 316L (UNS s31603) are American steel, its 316 and 316L are Japanese stainless steel.
Due to the addition of molybdenum, the general properties of steel are better than Aisi 310 and Aisi 304 stainless steel.Ss316 also has good resistance to chloride corrosion, so it is generally used in the marine environment.
