347 Stainless Steel

Stainless steels are iron alloys with a minimum of 10.5% chromium. Its characteristics are obtained by forming an adherent and invisible film of chromium oxide. Alloy 347 is a general-purpose austenitic stainless steel with a cubic structure of centered faces. It is essentially non-magnetic in an annealed state and can only harden in cold. Niobium is added to suppress the precipitation of chromium carbide in the intergranular joints.
