Stainless steel alloy 304H (UNS S30409) is a variation of austenitic Alloy 304 with 18% chromium and 8% nickel, in which the carbon content is controlled within a range of 0.04 to 0.10 to provide greater resistance to high temperatures to parts exposed to temperatures above €800 F. This alloy can be considered for a wide variety of applications and presents an excellent combination of corrosion resistance and machinability.
General Properties
Alloys 304 (S30400), 304L (S30403), and 304H (S30409) of stainless steel are variations of the austenitic alloy of 18% chromium - 8% nickel, the best known and most widely used alloy of the stainless steel family.
