The Brazilian Association of Technical Standards and the Brazilian Committee of Civil Construction, ABNT/CB-02, will initiate the development actions of the standard project PN 02:125.03-004, entitled "Projeto de estruturas de aço e of mixed steel and concrete structures of buildings with tubular profiles".
The meetings began on June 1, 2011, at the headquarters of ABECE - Associação Brasileira de Engenharia e Consultoria Strutural, in São Paulo, and since then they have been held on a monthly basis, bringing together producers, designers and specialist researchers on this subject.
The draft standard addresses particular aspects of the behavior of two structural elements constituted by tubular profiles, square tubes, rectangular tubes, and steel tubes with seamless seams, with emphasis on these planar and multiplanar welded connections.
The work is supported by ABECE and the CBCA and includes the participation of ABCEM, universities, steel companies and structural manufacturing companies. It is estimated that the work is completed this year.
