Duplex stainless steel is a steel with excellent corrosion resistance, high strength and easy to manufacture. Its physical properties are somewhere between austenitic and ferritic stainless steels, but more similar to ferritic ones.
Stainless steel and carbon steel body. The resistance of duplex stainless steel to chloride pitting and cracking is related to the content of chromium, molybdenum, tungsten and nitrogen, and can be similar or superior to 316 stainless steel.
6% Mo austenitic stainless steel. The resistance of all duplex stainless steels to chloride stress corrosion fracture is significantly stronger than that of 300 series austenitic duplex stainless steels.
