ASTM A276 SS 420 stainless steel round bar is a high-carbon, martensitic stainless steel bar that conforms to the ASTM A276 standard. After heat treatment, it achieves a hardness of 48-52 HRC (quenched and tempered), a tensile strength of ≥ 620 MPa, a yield strength of ≥ 450 MPa, and an elongation of ≥ 20% (annealed). It offers good machinability, moderate corrosion resistance, and resistance to mild oxidation and weak acid environments. It is widely used in cutting tools, bearings, valve components, and mechanical fasteners. Surface finishes are available: black, annealed, ground, or polished.
