The compositional design of 16MnDR steel sheet is a combination of moderate amounts of Mn, Ni and Cu elements, with Mn elements in the range of 1.2%-1.6%, Ni elements in the range of 0,3%-0,9% and Cu elements in the range of 0,3%-0,6%. This compositional design ensures that the steel has high hardenability and tempering stability, as well as good toughness and corrosion resistance.
16MnDR steel sheet can obtain good mechanical properties after proper heat treatment. Its tensile strength is generally between 195-250MPa, the yield strength is between 170-220MPa, the elongation is between 22%-28%, and the section shrinkage is between 45%{ {6}}%. The steel also has good toughness at low temperatures and is capable of maintaining high strength and plasticity at low temperatures.
The physical properties of 16MnDR steel sheet include density, thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity and magnetic properties. The steel has a density of 7.85 g/cm³, a thermal conductivity of 0.54 W/m-degree, an electrical conductivity of 90% IACS and a magnetic permeability of 1.83 mH/m. These physical properties are in the middle of the range compared to other common steels.
16MnDR steel plate is widely used in petroleum, chemical, electric power, construction, machinery and other fields. In the petrochemical industry, steel can be used for the manufacture of low-temperature storage tanks, pipelines, reactors and other equipment; in the electric power industry, it can be used for the manufacture of steam pipes, boilers and other equipment; In the construction industry, it can be used for the manufacture of reinforced concrete structural parts; In the machinery industry, it can be used for manufacturing gears, shaft parts and so on.
