What is the material equivalent to 1.4303 stainless steel?
EN 1.4303 stainless steel is equivalent to AISI 305. It's also known as X4CrNi18-12. This austenitic stainless steel is characterized by its good corrosion resistance and suitability for welding and cold forming.

Mechanical Properties-soft annealed condition at room temperature

Moderate strengths can be reached at elevated temperatures (~550 °C/1022 °F). Temperatures for excessive scaling are close to 850 °C/1562 °F.

1.4303 vs 1.4301
1.4303 and 1.4301 are both austenitic stainless steels, but 1.4303 has a higher nickel content, resulting in improved corrosion resistance, particularly in cold heading applications. While 1.4301 (also known as AISI 304) is the most versatile and widely used stainless steel, 1.4303 offers enhanced performance in certain situations.
