After the 2507 super duplex steel is tempered in the range of 500oC -700oC, the hardness value first decreases and then increases as the temperature increases. The hardness of the secondary temper is generally lower than that of the primary temper at the same temperature. In the range of 500oC -700oC, the tenacity increases first and then decreases after the first resell; the second tempering treatment has little effect on the toughness of steel.
The accumulated weight loss curve of duplex stainless steel 2507 is parabolic, accumulated weight loss increases with increased time and accumulated weight loss rate continues to decrease. According to the law of abrasion of the material, for wear of two bodies, the hardness of the material determines its wear resistance. Therefore, the abrasion resistance of super-synthetic stainless steel is closely related to the hardness of the material. Generally, the higher the hardness of the material, the lower the accumulated weight loss and the better the abrasion resistance. The study found that 2507 stainless steel has the highest hardness and poor toughness after tempering at 500oC, the second highest hardness and good toughness after tempering at 550oC, and the best abrasion resistance after tempering at 550oC, while the material after tempering to 500oC The abrasion resistance of stainless steel 2507 takes second place , so it can be found that the abrasion resistance of 2507 stainless steel is mainly related to hardness, and its toughness to impact also has an impact on abrasion performance.
The hardness of 2507 duplex stainless steel in secondary tempering is slightly lower than that of primary tempering at the same temperature, and abrasion resistance does not improve. From the comprehensive consideration of the performance and economy of the material, 2507 stainless steel standardized to 1050oC and tempered to 550oC once is the best heat treatment process.
