310 (1.4845) stainless steel is an austenitic stainless steel. Its high chromium and nickel content ensures excellent corrosion resistance, superior oxidation resistance, and superior strength up to 538°C (1000°F), making it an ideal choice for high-temperature applications. Compared to 304 or 309 stainless steel, 310 (1.4845) performs better in most environments and has a wider range of applications due to its higher chromium and nickel content.
What material is 1.4845 equivalent to?
310 stainless steel grade, which is also know as 1.4845 or 310s is a stainless grade which is commonly used in very high temperature envireoments. This grade is written as 1.4845 or X8CrNi25-21 according to EN norm and it is written as UNS S31008 according to UNS norm.

Weldability
AISI 310S (1.4845 / X15CrNi25-21) stainless steel is suitable for many common welding processes, including arc welding, TIG welding, laser welding, and MAG welding. It is not suitable for gas welding.
Corrosion Resistance
AISI 310S / BS 310S24 stainless steel is resistant to explosive corrosion. Its corrosion resistance is less favorable in oxidizing atmospheres and at low sulfur contents. In the welded state, it is not resistant to intergranular corrosion.
