EN 1.4512 is a titanium-stabilized ferritic stainless steel with a chromium content of approximately 11-12%. It belongs to the 400 series of stainless steels, similar to AISI 409 (UNS S40900). Its very low nickel content makes it magnetic and more economical than austenitic stainless steel grades like 304 or 316. This grade is widely used in applications requiring oxidation resistance and moderate corrosion resistance, such as automotive exhaust systems, industrial furnaces, and heat exchangers.
