What is the difference between ASTM A358 and ASTM A312?
ASTM A312 covers both seamless and various types of welded (including straight-seam) austenitic stainless steel pipes for general use and corrosive/high-temperature environments. In contrast, ASTM A358 is specifically for electric-fusion-welded (EFW) austenitic stainless steel pipes intended for high-temperature service, requiring different welding and testing methods based on five classes.
