What is an H-beam?
H-beams are derived from the fact that their section is the same as that of the letter H. The H-beam is a structural beam made of laminated steel. It's incredibly strong. It gets its name because it looks like a capital H over your section profile.

ASTM A992 steel is currently recognized as the most available steel for wide beams worldwide. It contains several alloy elements such as vanadium, columbio, copper, nickel, chromium and molybdenum, all of which greatly improve their strength and other properties, for example, mechanical properties, exhibit them much better than A572-50 and A36 - Voltage 65ksi and Fluency 65 ksi. Therefore, A992 wide beams (H-beam) generally replace A572-50.
