The ASTM a131 specification is the standard specification for steel structural plates used primarily for shipbuilding. Steel classes covered by this specification require CVN impact testing and minimum performance resistance classification.
The minimum performance resistance of the common resistance class is 34 ksi and that of the upper resistance class is 46 ksi. The conditions of supply are determined by the thickness of the order and the type of product (plates, profiles and bars).
