What is EN 1.4429 material?

EN 1.4429 is a high-strength, nitrogen-enriched austenitic stainless steel, also known as AISI 316LN or X2CrNiMoN17-13-3, that offers enhanced corrosion resistance and yield strength compared to standard AISI 316. It is commonly used in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and petrochemical industries due to its good mechanical properties and resistance to general, pitting, and crevice corrosion.

What is 1.4429 equivalent to?

EN 1.4429 is a nitrogen-alloyed stainless steel that is equivalent to AISI 316LN and the material designation UNS S31653.

Welding
The steel is easily welded using all welding processes. If a filler material is needed, an appropriate filler can be used. The maximum temperature between welding passes is 150 °C. No post-weld heat treatment is required

Forging
The working parts are usually preheated to a temperature of 1150 °C to 1200 °C, with forging taking place between 1200 °C and 900 °C. After forging, the component must be rapidly cooled in both air and water to avoid the formation of undesirable phases that could adversely affect corrosion and mechanical properties.

At GNEE, we ensure that all our stainless steel products are sourced from high-quality raw materials and manufactured in strict accordance with international standards.
