Its chromium content ranges from 18.0-20.0%, nickel from 8.0-10.5%, and carbon content ≤0.08%. Pipes that meet ASTM A312 standards exhibit excellent corrosion resistance (can withstand long-term use in air, fresh water, and mild acid and alkali environments), good high-temperature performance (continuous use temperatures up to 900°C and short-term temperature resistance up to 1000°C), and mechanical strength (minimum yield strength of 205 MPa, tensile strength of 515-790 MPa). They are widely used in the petrochemical, food processing, pharmaceutical, and building water supply and drainage industries.

What is the difference between 304 and TP304?

ASTM A312 TP304 grade pipes can be processed through hot rolling or cold rolling techniques. These pipes are available in thicknesses ranging from 0.8mm to 12mm and come in various sizes and specifications to meet project requirements. They are produced in seamless, welded, and ERW constructions. ASME SA 312 TP 304 seamless pipes are manufactured using an extrusion process, where hot steel billets are forced through a metal die. This enables the material to withstand high-temperature and high-pressure working conditions. Compared to welded pipes, these pipes are slightly more expensive. A312 TP304 welded pipes are more cost-effective and can be produced in sizes ranging from 1/8 to 36 NB. These pipes are versatile, with outer diameters ranging from 6.35mm to 114.3mm.
