ASTM B111 C12200 H55 is the standard for seamless, lightly drawn, phosphorus-deoxidized copper (C12200) tubing suitable for condensers and other heat exchangers.
C12200 (also known as DHP copper) offers high thermal conductivity, excellent resistance to water and steam corrosion, and good strength and formability. "H55" designates the lightly drawn (hard drawn) condition, which provides the high rigidity and mechanical strength required for condenser pressure applications, where reliable heat transfer is critical.
ASTM B111 C12200 H55 tubing exhibits excellent bend and flare formability after annealing. It is primarily used in heat exchanger and condenser applications where mechanical strength and pressure integrity are paramount.

- Available in hard-drawn (rigid) or annealed (soft) tempers
Comparison with Other Copper Alloys:
- C10200 (Oxygen-Free Copper): Higher purity, used in electrical applications.
- C12000 (Phosphorus-Deoxidized Copper): Similar but with slightly different phosphorus content.
- C12200 (DHP Copper): Preferred for plumbing due to better brazing & corrosion resistance.
