For chemical equipment requiring a cost-effective solution with excellent corrosion resistance, especially in acidic chloride environments, ASTM A312 TP317L welded pipe is the obvious choice. However, for high-pressure or high-leverage applications, where maximum strength and a leak-proof design are crucial, ASTM A312 TP317L seamless pipe is more suitable.
ASTM A312 TP317L welded pipe is primarily composed of chromium, nickel, molybdenum, and titanium. Chromium content ranges from 18-20%, nickel from 11-15%, molybdenum from 3-4%, and titanium from 0.10-0.25%. It also contains small amounts of niobium and vanadium. It offers excellent corrosion resistance, particularly against sulfuric acid, acidic solutions, and chloride media. Furthermore, it can be joined using conventional welding methods. Common welding methods include TIG (tungsten inert gas welding) and MIG (metallic arc welding). It is widely used in the chemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical, and food processing industries.
