What is ASTM A269 material?
ASTM A269 seamless stainless steel pipe is suitable for both low- and high-temperature applications. These pipes can be made from austenitic steel and are produced using electric resistance welding, electric fusion welding, or seamless cold drawing processes. The pipe surface is available in various finishes and can be heat treated.
We offer ASTM A269 TP316L stainless steel pipe in both welded and seamless finishes. ASTM A269 316L is a molybdenum-containing austenitic stainless steel. Its higher nickel content and lower carbon content provide it with better overall corrosion resistance than 304 stainless steel, particularly against pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. It is available in bright annealed (BA) and polished finishes.
According to ASTM A269, pipe sizes and thicknesses meeting this specification are generally 1⁄4 inch (6.4 mm) inside diameter and larger, with a nominal wall thickness of 0.020 inch (0.51 mm) and larger. Custom sizes are also available upon request.

What is the difference between ASTM A269 and A249?
ASTM A269 standard applies to general-purpose seamless and welded austenitic stainless steel tubes, widely used in a variety of equipment and tubing, including bright tubes and coils, etc. ASTM A249 standard is specifically designed for welded austenitic steel boilers, superheaters, Heat exchangers and condensers and other pressure piping stainless steel welded tube.
What is the difference between ASTM A269 and A213?
ASTM A269 is suitable for general purpose austenitic stainless steel seamless and welded tubes, which are widely used in various industrial fields, such as chemical, petroleum, food processing, water treatment and so on. ASTM A213 is mainly used for high-temperature applications, such as boilers, heat exchangers, high-pressure equipment, etc. It is suitable for applications in high-temperature environments
