ASTM A269 TP316L Stainless Steel Annealed Pickled Tubing

Mar 27, 2026

Why do TP316L stainless steel tubes still encounter issues such as surface contamination, bending cracks, or poor installation fit in chemical, pharmaceutical, or fluid handling systems-even when the correct material is selected? The key lies in whether the pickling and passivation quality, material condition, and dimensional accuracy truly meet engineering requirements.

Our ASTM A269 TP316L Stainless Steel Annealed Pickled Tubing is specifically designed for highly corrosive environments. All TP316L tubes undergo professional pickling treatment to completely remove oxide scale and heat treatment residues, followed by passivation to form a stable and dense պաշտպան oxide layer on the surface. This significantly enhances corrosion resistance, especially in chloride-containing or mildly acidic media, reducing corrosion failure rates by approximately 25%.

In terms of mechanical properties, ASTM A269 TP316L stainless steel tubes are processed through solution annealing, with hardness strictly controlled at ≤HRB 90. This ensures excellent ductility and bending performance. The tubes can meet demanding cold bending and flaring requirements, effectively preventing cracking or deformation during fabrication and installation.

Regarding dimensional accuracy, we strictly comply with ASTM A269 standards, controlling outer diameter tolerance within ±0.2%–0.3% and maintaining wall thickness uniformity within ±10%. This ensures excellent fit during assembly, minimizing installation errors and reducing sealing risks.

What dimensional tolerances are available?
According to ASTM A269, tubing is supplied with tight tolerances. For precision applications, OD tolerance can be controlled within ±0.05 mm, and wall thickness within ±10%, depending on manufacturing capability.

Is the tubing suitable for bending and fabrication?
Yes. Due to controlled annealing and low hardness, TP316L tubing offers excellent ductility. It supports tight-radius bending without cracking, making it suitable for complex piping layouts and instrumentation systems.
