What is the difference between 304L and 304H tubing?
The difference between 304L and 304H tubing lies in their carbon content. 304L has a lower carbon content, with a maximum of 0.03%, while 304H has a higher carbon content, ranging from over 0.04% to 0.1%. Lower carbon content materials are more suitable for welding, while higher carbon content provides greater toughness. UNS S30403 stainless steel heat exchanger tubes can withstand temperatures up to 870 degrees Celsius under intermittent use conditions and up to 925 degrees Celsius under continuous use conditions.
