EN 10216-5 1.4462 is a European standard for seamless duplex stainless steel tubes, commonly known as Duplex 2205 (UNS S32205), ideal for applications in chemical, oil and gas, and marine engineering. 1.4462 SS pipes offer excellent overall corrosion resistance, localized corrosion resistance, and stress corrosion resistance, along with a high strength-to-weight ratio and good impact toughness, meeting stringent pressure vessel requirements.
GNEE supplies 1.4462 duplex stainless steel seamless tubes with a dual-phase austenitic and ferritic microstructure. Manufactured and tested in strict accordance with EN/ISO standards, it has become the material of choice in the European energy, chemical, and marine engineering sectors. 1.4462 duplex stainless steel cold-rolled tubes exhibit excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking (SCC) and pitting corrosion (PREN≥35), with a tensile strength of 750–850 MPa and a yield strength exceeding 450 MPa, outperforming traditional austenitic stainless steels. It is suitable for harsh environments such as oil and gas transportation (resistant to H₂S/CO₂ corrosion), high-pressure desalination pipelines, and chemical reactors.

What material is 1.4462 equivalent to?
This grade is written as 1.4462 or X2CrNiMoN22-5-3 according to EN norm and it is written as UNS S31803 or S32205 according to UNS norm. Some producers can also name this 1.4462 material as Temet, Aquashaft, Marinox but the actually, all this names are equal to 1.4462 duplex stainless steel.
