ASTM A240 Type 321 stainless steel hot-rolled coil is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel that offers superior corrosion resistance and excellent high-temperature performance (up to approximately 1600°F) compared to Type 304 stainless steel. 321 stainless steel hot-rolled coils are used in demanding applications such as furnace components, boilers, heat exchangers, and aerospace applications. It is available in various surface finishes and thicknesses, and exhibits good weldability and machinability, with properties similar to 304 stainless steel.

What is the difference between 321 and 321H stainless steel?
The main difference between 321 and 321H stainless steel is their carbon content: 321H has a higher carbon percentage (0.04-0.10%) than standard 321 (max 0.08%), which gives it superior strength and creep resistance at elevated temperatures (above 1000°F or 537°C). Both are titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steels, but the "H" grade is specifically designed for demanding, high-temperature structural applications where the lower carbon 321 might not suffice.
