Austenitic stainless steel to molybdenum. Stainless steel AISI 316 excellent corrosion resistance against virtually any corrosive agent of high concentration and up to temperatures of approximately 300 "C. It is easily welded, but in the reheated areas if hypertemple was not carried out, it can present intergranular corrosion. It is not temperable and can be hardened by cold deformation (wires). In the annealed (hypertempered) state it is not ferromagnetic. As it deforms in cold, it acquires ferromagnetism. In soft state it is suitable for cold stamping.
