AISI 347 material has excellent weldability. This is a general positive feature of austenitic steels. It has high mechanical properties that guarantee good permeability. AISI 347 is recommended for some cold forming processes.

The application areas of AISI 347 are typically intended for corrosive environments and high temperatures. It is currently used in the manufacture of aircraft collector rings, rocket engine components, automotive exhaust manifolds, expansion joints and systems for chemical processing at high temperatures.
