Round, square and hexagonal bars and AISI 304/304L steel wire, austenitic stainless steel of good weldability, cold forming and ductility. The addition of Chromium and Nickel provide them with very good corrosion resistance.
Advantages:Good corrosion resistance in multiple environments at a reasonable cost.
Disadvantages:Its resistance to corrosion against chemical reagents such as sulfuric acid or marine environments is not good.
Uses:Parts that require good corrosion resistance, a degree of hygiene compatible with food handling or special image care.
AISI-304 stainless steel is the most widely used of the austenitic stainless steels. It is able to meet a wide variety of physical requirements making it an ideal material to use in storage tanks. The 304 provides good resistance to moderate acid attack, but lower than when compared to the AISI-316 steel type.
